The 21st Century COE Program "Usage-Based Linguistic Informatics"(2002-2006)

Lectures & Seminars

Each year our COE organizes lectures by well-known researchers in the fields of linguistics and applied linguistics. These lectures promote exchanges between researchers, and discussions based on the content of these lectures are published in report collections. Moreover, seminars are frequently held with the cooperation of each of the groups involved in the COE Program to familiarize those at the university with the research activities of the COE Program. Graduate students are given the opportunity to make presentations at these seminars, thereby providing them with a chance to work on their research presentation skills and discussion abilities. Research presentation papers are reviewed by members of the editorial board, published in research report collections and disclosed via the Web for transmission both in and outside Japan.
