アブストラクトThe Graduate School of Area and Culture Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Japan, has been developing ‘TUFS Language Modules’, a web-based second language (L2) learning system under the project of “Center of Excellence in Usage-Based Linguistic Informatics” since 2002. Composed of pronunciation, dialogue, grammar, and vocabulary modules for seventeen languages, the web-based nature of the language modules allows teachers and learners to access and make use of them from all around the world. Presently, pronunciation and dialogue modules for seventeen languages have already been developed and are accessible on the internet in Japanese (http://www.coelang.tufs.ac.jp/modules/index.html). In this poster presentation, we will first describe the basic framework for the development of ‘TUFS Language Modules’. We shall then present the outline and basic structure of the ‘Japanese Dialogue Module’ and introduce some examples of its use. Last of all, we will indicate some directions of the materials development and research for the future.
