It's just that you still haven't taken your foundation course for European History.
ただ、君はまだヨーロッパ史の基礎科目を取っていないね。
And, it doesn't look like you're planning to take it next year.
来年度で取ることも計画していないようだけれども。

Um. I thought I could take it later.
ええっと。後でとれると思って。

Yes, but I'd suggest that you take the foundation course next term. Firstly, it's a good idea to get it out of the way, sooner rather than later.
そうだね。だけども、来学期で基礎科目をとることを提案するよ。理由の一つとして後に残すよりも、早目に終わらせておいた方がいいからね。
But, more importantly, it's a prerequisite for the other courses you need to take for your degree.
でも何より、基礎科目は学位取得で必要とされている他の科目の必要条件だからね。
If you don't take it next term, you might have difficulty completing your degree on time.
来学期でとらないと、予定通りに学位を取ることが難しくなるかもしれないよ。

Ah. I really wanted to take the French course, but I guess you're right.
はあ。フランス語の授業をすごく取りたかったんです。でも、それもそうですよね。
I'll take the foundation course next term instead.
かわりに、基礎科目をとることにします。
Maybe I'll have time to take the language course another time.
また別の機会に語学の科目を取る時間はあるだろうし。
