It's just that you still haven't taken the core course for your major, and it doesn't look like you're planning to register for it next term.
ただ、君はまだ専攻の基礎コースを取っていなくて、来学期での登録を計画していないみたいだね。

For one thing, it's a good idea to get it done as soon as possible.
理由の一つとして、早目に終わらせておいた方がいいからね。
More importantly, it's a prerequisite for the other courses you need to take for your major.
そして何より、君の専攻でとる必要のある他の科目の履修条件だからね。
If you don't take it next semester, you might have difficulty completing your degree on time.
来学期でとらないと、予定通りに学位を取ることが難しくなるかもしれないよ。

はあ、絵画の授業をすごく取りたかったんです。でも、それもそうですよね。
